Mills CalMag
Mills CalMag supplements calcium and magnesium to tackle plant mineral deficiencies, stimulating growth and strength. Not only does Mills CalMag address mineral deficiencies, but it also helps stabilise EC levels in your plants, ensuring optimal nutrient uptake. It is excellent for re-mineralising Reverse Osmosis water to achieve impressive outcomes. CalMag is vital for those in areas with soft water, and is highly concentrated so it lasts longer.
Mills CalMag is a must-have in your plant care routine. Say goodbye to wilted leaves and stunted growth, and welcome flourishing, thriving plants with Mills CalMag by your side.
Key benefits of using Mills CalMag
- Vital for soft water: CalMag is crucial if you reside in a soft water region - where your plants may face deficiencies in secondary nutrients.
- Avoiding deficiencies: Calcium and magnesium are frequently lacking in plants. This is because these nutrients can only be absorbed efficiently when the pH level is above 6.3.
- Maximised concentration: Mills Calmag is at its maximum concentration, you'll be amazed by how long it lasts!
How to use Mills CalMag
Calmag is extremely concentrated. It is recommended to use only approx. 1 ml per litre of water to raise the EC to the desired level. To avoid deficiencies in calcium and magnesium, add 1ml per 1 litre of water to your plants without any other additives, maintaining a pH of 6.5, once a week.
NPK Value: 8-0-0
Mills CalMag can be used on all mediums coco, hydroponics and soil.
Available in 1 litre.
What are the ingredients of Mills CalMag?
Mills CalMag includes calcium and magnesium, both crucial macro nutrients for plants: Calcium strengthens cell walls and triggers enzymes that accelerate chemical reactions. Magnesium is a key element of chlorophyll, the green pigment necessary for photosynthesis.
How do i know if my plants need cal mag?
To determine if your plants need Cal-Mag (calcium and magnesium), look for specific signs of deficiency. If your plants are lacking calcium, you may notice problems with new growth, such as distorted leaves or blackened tips, which is called "tip burn." The younger leaves may curl or show necrotic spots, and fruiting plants may develop blossom end rot, where the base of the fruit becomes dark and sunken. Additionally, a lack of calcium can lead to weak root development and overall stunted growth.
Magnesium deficiency often presents as yellowing between the veins of older leaves, a condition known as interveinal chlorosis, while the veins themselves remain green. The leaves may also curl, either upwards or downwards, and older leaves could develop a purple or reddish tint. Magnesium is crucial for photosynthesis, so a deficiency can also result in poor flowering or fruiting.
Environmental factors like pH imbalances, overwatering, or high temperatures can exacerbate Cal-Mag deficiencies. If your plants are stressed in these ways, they may struggle to absorb these nutrients. Also, inconsistent watering or poor drainage can hinder nutrient uptake.
If you spot these symptoms, consider adding a Cal-Mag supplement to your watering routine, and ensure your soil’s pH is within the ideal range (typically between 6.0 and 7.0 for most plants), as both calcium and magnesium are more available at neutral pH.
