Maximise odour elimination and air purification with the essential AC Infinity Duct Carbon Filter. This high-airflow filter, featuring premium-grade Australian charcoal, is the perfect complement to your inline duct fan system, ensuring a clean and discreet environment for all your ventilation needs, especially in hydroponics and grow rooms.
Key Benefits of the AC Infinity Carbon Filter
- Superior Odour & Chemical Removal: Utilises Australian Virgin RC412 charcoal rated at 1200+ IAV (Iodine Adsorption Value), providing premium adsorption of unwanted smells and airborne chemicals.
- Maximum Lifespan: Features a 38mm charcoal bed thickness and unique microporosity, enabling a higher adsorption rate and extending the filter's lifespan by up to 33% compared to standard filters.
- High-Airflow Design: The wide mesh opening and activated carbon composition ensure a minimum restriction of airflow, allowing your ventilation system to operate efficiently.
- Heavy-Duty and Durable: Constructed with rust-resistant galvanised steel mesh and robust aluminium flanges, finished in a durable, powder-coated gunmetal to withstand high-humidity environments.
- Reversible Flanges: The aluminium flanges are designed to be removable and reversible, allowing you to utilise the entire carbon bed and further prolong the filter’s operating life.
How to set up and use the AC Infinity Carbon Filter
The AC Infinity carbon filter is designed for versatility in setup, working seamlessly with an inline duct fan (such as the AC Infinity CLOUDLINE Pro).
- Placement: The filter can be placed inside your grow space for intake (to filter air coming in, less common) or, most typically, inside your grow space and connected to the fan's intake end for exhaust (to scrub odours before air leaves the space). You can hang the filter using the included rope clip hangers or hanging straps attached to your tent's support beams.
- Connection: Connect one end of the filter directly to your inline duct fan or to ducting tube using duct clamps. For the most secure, airtight connection, it is recommended to use AC Infinity's Noise Reduction Clamp.
- Pre-filter Usage: Ensure the included machine-washable pre-filter cloth is slipped over the carbon filter to block dust and large debris from clogging the charcoal. Wash the cloth periodically for maintenance.
- Maintenance Tip: To extend the filter's life, you can periodically reverse the flanges (the filter ends) to expose fresh carbon to the air stream.
Available in: 4", 6", 8" 10" and 12".
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an AC Infinity carbon filter last?
The lifespan depends on usage, humidity, and the concentration of odours being filtered. However, with proper maintenance (regular pre-filter washing and flange reversal), the high-grade Australian charcoal in this carbon filter is designed to last up to 33% longer than standard filters. It is generally recommended to replace the carbon when odours start to become noticeable again.Where should I place the fan and filter in my grow tent?
For optimal odour control, the fan and carbon filter should be placed near the top of the tent, where heat and odours accumulate. The typical configuration is: air from the tent → carbon filter → inline fan → exhaust ducting. What is the purpose of the black cloth pre-filter cover?
The pre-filter cloth prevents larger dust and debris particles from clogging the pores of the activated charcoal, which helps maintain the filter's efficiency and significantly extends the overall life of the carbon filter. It is machine washable. Can I use the filter as an air intake filter?
Yes, while most commonly used for exhaust odour control, the filter can be placed on the intake side of your ventilation system to scrub incoming air of dust, pollen, and pollutants. When doing this, it is recommended to stuff the pre-filter cloth inside the filter, according to the manufacturer's advice, for maximum air-filtering efficiency.SKU: 1619 DUCT CARBON FILTER 4"
