How to Use Shogun Samurai Hydro Grow
Shogun Samurai Hydro Grow is a two-part concentrate (Part A and Part B) and must always be used in equal amounts. Never mix Part A and Part B together directly; always add each part separately to your water reservoir.Root Feed Application:Add Shogun Samurai Hydro Grow Part A and Part B at a rate of 1-4ml per litre to your nutrient reservoir or watering can. The exact dilution rate will depend on your water hardness and the specific needs of your plants. Refer to the Shogun feed chart available from the Downloads tab above for detailed guidance based on your week of growth.Important Considerations:- Mixing: Always add Part A to your reservoir first, mix thoroughly, then add Part B and mix again.
- EC Monitoring: Maintain an Electrical Conductivity (EC) range of 1.3-2.5 in your nutrient solution. We recommend using a reliable EC Meter to monitor levels accurately. The Bluelab EC Pen or Aqua Master Tools E50 EC Temp Meter are great options.
- pH Management: The ideal pH range for hydroponic systems using Shogun Samurai Hydro Grow is 5.5-6.6. Regularly check and adjust your pH using pH Up or pH Down solutions.
- Media-Based Systems: For systems utilising growing media, ensure approximately 10-40% daily drain to prevent nutrient build-up and ensure fresh nutrient availability in the root zone. The drain conductivity should ideally be 0-15% higher than the input solution conductivity.
- Nutrient Solution Renewal: Renew your nutrient solution every 7 days for optimal plant health and performance.
Available in 1 litre (A & B) and 5 litres (A & B) for both Soft and Hard water.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Shogun Samurai Hydro Grow with other brands of nutrients or additives?
While Shogun Samurai Hydro Grow is designed for seamless integration with the full Shogun range for optimal results, it can generally be used with other reputable hydroponic additives. However, for best performance and to avoid potential nutrient imbalances, it is always recommended to use the complete Shogun nutrient line, such as pairing with Shogun Katana Roots during propagation and early vegetative growth, and transitioning to Shogun Samurai Hydro Bloom for the flowering stage. What does "A & B" mean in relation to hydroponic nutrients?
"A & B" refers to a two-part nutrient system. Splitting the nutrient feed into two bottles prevents certain micronutrients from binding together and precipitating out of the solution when concentrated in storage. This ensures that all essential elements remain available to your plants when mixed in your reservoir. Always add Part A and Part B separately to your water. My plants are showing signs of nutrient deficiency, even though I'm using Shogun Samurai Hydro Grow. What could be the issue?
If your plants are exhibiting deficiencies, first check your pH and EC levels diligently. Incorrect pH can lead to nutrient lockout, where plants are unable to absorb nutrients even if they are present in the solution. An EC that is too low indicates underfeeding, while an EC that is too high can cause nutrient burn. Ensure adequate runoff in media-based systems. Also, consider the overall health and vigour of your plants; slower-growing or unhealthy plants may require a lower dosage. Consulting the Shogun feed chart and checking for common deficiency symptoms can help diagnose the problem.SKU: 2127 Free delivery on orders over £60*
